Robert and Kathy Kernan

Robert and Kathy Kernan live in Clarkston, Washington where they founded Sky River Glass several years ago. Sky River Glass specializes in hand-blown glass art inspired by organic shapes and forms. Robert and Kathy gained their formal training beginning in 1996 in Seattle, Washington at the Darrell Smith Glass Blowing Studio. Since then they have continued their formal training through the years with Darren Petersen, Randy Walker, and Andrew Kuntz in Alberta, Canada, and Bennett Jordan in Seattle.

For the last several years, Robert and Kathy have been working on a series called "Nutwood" which attempts to recreate the various striations found in wood and rock. They apply this color technique to shapes reminiscent of early pottery and basket vessels.

Their most recent works include new "Nutwood" designs, and the introduction of the "Tortoiseshell" series and "Cairo" series, which continue to show their interest in natural form and color.

Linda Dillard

Linda Dillard was born in Yakima, Washington, and received her BFA at WWSU. She is currently a resident of Palouse, Washington and is the Director of Grasshoppers, an early learning, artistically motivated children's center. Linda's exhibit at the Bank Left Gallery will be her second gallery show, but she has been deeply interested and involved with art from a very early age. She has been influenced by such artists as Rembrandt, Turner, the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood, and Mary Cassatt. Her paintings are rich with emotional subject matter, soft and deep, with translucent colors.
